Frequently asked questions

What changed in 2026 for charging a company car at home?

With the German Finance Ministry (BMF) letter of 11 November 2025, the monthly flat rates for charging company cars at home were abolished from 1 January 2026. Only electricity actually charged, in kWh, can now be reimbursed tax-free, either at your own electricity tariff or at the flat rate of €0.34 per kWh for 2026.

Do I need a calibrated or MID-certified meter?

According to the trade press, calibrated or MID-certified metering is not explicitly required, as long as the kWh charged are documented separately and traceably. Possible sources include vehicle data from manufacturer apps, wallbox data and sub-meters. What your employer accepts is set out in its car policy.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. Text recognition and the PDF run entirely in your browser. Images, charging sessions, name and number plate never leave your device.

My car app only shows monthly totals.

Then enter the monthly total as a single entry dated the last day of the month. Check whether the app shows home and public charging separately.

Text recognition misread something.

Correct the value directly in the table. Use the “Home / Away” switch to exclude a session from reimbursement.

Will my employer accept this?

That is your employer's decision. The proof contains all the usual details: car, number plate, period, individual charging sessions, data source, electricity price and amount. Keep the screenshots in case of questions.

Is the proof in English?

The PDF is in German, because it goes to German payroll and that is what HR departments expect. This page is in English so you know exactly what you are filling in.

What does Ladebeleg cost?
